Clusters of 1" florets contain red at first but change to a solid deep blue during the growing season. These intensely hued blooms are borne on stately black stems and open above hairy, lance-shaped leaves. The striking leaves make the plant an interesting choice for cut-flower arrangements and an unappetizing option for deer. Drought tolerant.
